CJC Parent Support Group
An introduction to the CJC Parent Support Group:

The college’s community of parents stepped forward in March 2008 to form CJC’s Parent Support Group (PSG = Prayer, snacks, God-centred).
As a volunteer group of parents, The PSG:
- Supports the college in practical ways to nurture the students
- Fosters closer bonding of students, parents and teachers in the college community
When parents bond, children learn.
The PSG Activities
Parents may choose to be involved in one, or more, of the following activities. It is fine to be involved with snacks only; prayer only; or just financially support their efforts.
1. Snack Friends Program
For 50 nights a year leading to JC1s promotional examinations and JC2s ‘A’ Levels, Parent Snack Friends, Dads & Mums, role model volunteerism by personally serving prepared snacks for students attending night study. Children appreciate that parents are concerned and care about them. This is a visible expression of that care.
2. Parent Prayer Group
Teens face many challenges. One of the best things Dads & Mums can do is to pray for the children. The Parent Prayer Group holds weekly Inter-denominational Prayer sessions to provide anchoring prayer support for PSG activities, the students, the teachers and the school.
3. Teachers’ Day Appreciation
Over breakfast and fellowship, parents make plans to show heartwarming appreciation of our teachers on Teachers’ Day through personalized gifts.

An Invitation to The PSG
The college invites all parents of CJC students, past and present, to join in.
To sign up with The PSG, contact the School Admin office.

Some Feedback from Parents & Students:
“Our first valuable lesson has been that we have become adopted parents to all the students in the school and imparting to them a sense of parental duty and love. By sharing our time & commitment, we demonstrated to them our care and our willingness to help them focus on their studies & supporting their nourishment needs during the study nights.”
