Young Prague 2010
Catholic Junior College Choir successfully participated in the Young Prague 2010, an established international festival that attracted choirs and orchestras from countries around the world.
Catholic Junior College Choir was awarded with 2 Gold Diplomas in both Mixed Choir and Spirituals Categories and emerged as winner in both. With almost half the choir members just joined in February, the 36-singer tour group had a challenging task to deliver a 5-song programme in one category to perfection. The singers did Singapore proud by making a strong impression in the festival and winning standing ovation in a concert performance.
The conductor, Toh Ban Sheng, the Young Artist Award recipient in 2006 was awarded with Conductor’s Prize for outstanding performance. This is his 3rd win since 2003 and 2008 in Europe.
The choir is the only group that won 3 awards.
